Thank goodness the pilot got out ok. Anyone else surprised that we still have Eagles deployed overseas? I thought the ones that weren't decom'd were being used by Air National Guard duty at this point.

Nope not surprised. F-15 is operated by the USAF as well as the ANG. IIRC its 114 F-15s USAF and 140 ANG

Yep but the new F-15E is a whole different animal. The Aircraft that crashed today was a D model Serial # 86-0182

True enough, I was just mentioning the Es because there's two squads of them at Lakenheath, plus the one of Cs and Ds.
